Golden State Bank (originally known as Golden State Business Bank) opened its doors on December 1, 2003 in a 108-year-old Shingle Victorian Home, known to the local community as the Hanson/Rorhig Home. Located at 1060 W. Foothill Boulevard, Upland California, the office is adjacent to the San Gabriel Mountains and just south of Mount Baldy. It is situated on original U.S. Route 66, midway between the San Bernardino Freeway, Interstate 10, and the 210 Foothill Freeway. Golden State Bank also serves its customers with an additional branch located in Brea, California.
The Bank initially capitalized with $11,000,000, which was accomplished in only six weeks, demonstrating the desire of approximately 250 shareholders to be part of a community oriented banking organization. Golden State Bank is a state chartered commercial lending institution specializing in commercial / residential real estate construction and mini-perm lending, and a full array of consumer loans.
